Lifes Tough QuestionsPart 1
  • Why are We Here?

2
Point 1
  • Let me suggest that there are many reasons for a
persons existence but not every reason brings
    fulfillment to a persons life.
  • 1 Corinthians 107 (NIV) 7 Do not be idolaters,
as some of them were as it is written "The
people sat down to eat and drink and got up to
    indulge in pagan revelry."
  • Deuteronomy 1012 (NIV) 12 And now, O Israel,
what does the LORD your God ask of you but to
fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways,
to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all
your heart and with all your soul,

3
Point 2
  • So if serving God is my main reason for why I am
here what does God require of me?
  • a. Good works
  • Ephesians 210 (NIV) 10 For we are God's
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good
works, which God prepared in advance for us to
do. b. It requires me to aim at something and
    not wander aimlessly.
  • Matthew 632-33 (NIV) 32 For the pagans run
after all these things, and your heavenly Father
knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.

4
Point 3
  • We can tell if we have found the right meaning to
life by how we look at tomorrow.
  • Jeremiah 2911 (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I
have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give
    you hope and a future.
  • 1 Corinthians 1532 (NIV) 32 If I fought wild
beasts in Ephesus for merely human reasons, what
have I gained? If the dead are not raised, "Let
us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."

5
Point 4
  • If I truly understood the reason for my life, my
decisions would be made a lot simpler.
  • James 18 (NIV) 8 he is a double-minded man,
    unstable in all he does.

6
Point 5
  • When I understand why I am here it makes it
easier to pay attention as to how I live my life.
  • Ephesians 41 (NIV) 1 As a prisoner for the
Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of
    the calling you have received.
