- Basic Information Form
- Location/Position Choices Form
- Summary of Background and Credentials Form
- Course Work Summary Form
- KSAs (maximum of 2 pages per KSA)
- ECP Supervisory Assessment Form
5Basic Information Form
Information from your most recent SF 50.
If you held a higher graded Federal position than
your current position, enter here with the
effective beginning and end dates.
Place an X in this column by each position for
which you wish to be rated.
6Location/Position Choices Form
An X by an area or country indicates you are
available for any location within that
area/country.
An X by specific location limits your
consideration to that school complex.
Make sure you include all locations to which you
are willing to relocate as a promotion or a
lateral reassignment. Failure to accept a
position that you have listed as acceptable will
result in non-consideration for other locations
for one school year.
7Summary of Background and Credentials
Do not include any documentation for these items
with your application. (You need to ensure that
your DoDEA Certification is up to date.)
8Course Work Summary
Review the qualification course requirements
carefully to ensure you qualify for the positions
for which you are asking to be rated.
All transcripts supporting the graduate semester
credit you list on this form should be at the
DoDEA Personnel Center in your official personnel
file.
9Supervisory Assessment Form
- Use the Scoring Rubrics to do an honest
self-evaluation. Each person has personal
strengths and limitations and depending on the
quality and depth of their experiences, ratings
may not all be at the highest level. - When you meet with your immediate supervisor, be
prepared to discuss the qualifications and
experiences that you believe have prepared you
for the position(s) you seek.
10Nuts and Bolts
- Writing the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
(KSAs) - The application instructions for formatting your
responses to each of the four KSAs are - no longer than two 8 ½ x 11 pages
- one blank line between each KSA and each
descriptor within the KSA - no bold text narrative
- font size twelve pitch
- Times New Roman font
- one-inch margins on top, bottom and both sides
- address each KSA separately but no more than two
(2) pages each - do not include the full text of each KSA title
- address the descriptors in the order given in the
directions and - clearly indicate the individual descriptor within
the KSA that you are addressing.
11An example follows on the next slide.
The example is formatted using the correct
margins (1 top, bottom, left and right), font
(12-point New Times Roman) and single line
spacing. The narrative portion includes advice
to be followed in completing each KSA and does
not relate to the actual descriptors under KSA 1
but are intended to give you a picture of a
correctly formatted page.
12Headers Footers are excluded from the margin
requirement.
Single space between abbreviated KSA title,
descriptors, and narratives.
KSA Sample with correct formatting
Tab indent for paragraphs with no spaces between
paragraphs.
13Suggestions
- Read the official announcement and follow the
instructions explicitly. - Pay attention to the general advice contained in
the application packet and the Helpful Hints in
the application forms packet. - Print out your application and have someone
proof read your KSAs for clear and concise
writing. - Score your KSAs using the KSA Rubrics to insure
you have accurately reflected your experiences
and training as it relates to each rubric.
Remember the QUALITY of your application
reflects on YOU!
