3Summary of previous meeting Annecy, September
16th.
- GenIma (Jean) Single mtrack reconstruction
efficiency. - Thin3DTracking algorithm had been emulated
- Preliminary results are consistent with those
presented in Lyons _at_ the scanning meeting. - Attempt to skip going through time consuming
step of image generation. - Next step emulation of more recent version of
the tracking algorithm (SmartTracker7).
4Summary of previous meeting Annecy, September
16th.
- Storing Emulsion Images (Dominique B.)
- Present format of simulated emulsion images is
rather burdensome. - Presentation of the FITS format.
- Made a demo and will try with GenIma images
- Next step write a note.
- OPERA chain (Dominique D.)
- The chain from GenIma to Fedra is available
images are converted into Views trees. - The tracker used in this chain is SmartTracker4.
- Next step, use SmartTracker7.

Tracker (Imad)
6Summary of previous meeting Annecy, September
16th.
- For time being LyonTracker is twice slower but
seems to reduce the background. - Question on shadows How are they removed in
Sysal? - Question on the timeout in Sysal. If one uses
too many triggers, that should slow down the
scanning what happens if the timeout is reached?
Moves to next view? - Next steps
- Integrate LyonTracker into Sysal and compare it
with SmartTracker7. - Integrate it into the GenIma2Fedra chain (?)
7Summary of previous meeting Annecy, September
16th.
Vertex (Markus)
- Presentation of an algorithm for vertex
location. - Results on MC data
- Estimation on error propagation and consequences
on vertex location. - Next steps
- Integrate algorithm into Fedra.
- Check the algorithm on test beam data.

Scanning performances
Neuchâtel
- 8 sheets of the Reference Brick 2004 had been
scanned. - Both oil and dry objectives were used
- Results are consistent one with another and
coherent with results from other labs. . - Next steps
- Scan larger areas.
- Electron TB
9Summary of previous meeting Annecy, September
16th.
Berne
- Results with both configurations (oil and dry)
- Results with dry seem better than Cristianos
reference plots. - Noise level had been estimated using a refreshed
but NON exposed sheet. Results were consitent
with one from Bologna presented later _at_ Gran
Sasso (5 mm-2) - A question was raised on Cristianos results 1
fake per cm2. - Answer FAKE track ? track that is not seen by
eye (is not in the emulsion). - Other tracks are real (background) tracks that
are in the emulsion.

16th.
p/m separation
Annecy
- Estimation of cosmics integrated in the emulsion
used _at_ PSI - 750 m cm-2.
- 1st qualitative analysis of the test spread od
the beam. - Pb with the brick exposed to muons, scanned both
Swiss labs ???
Lyon
- recalled results on high/low energy separation
by looking _at_ grains/layer. - Results on PSI 2003 scanned with 1 layer/mm and
same area for each sheet give a hint on p/m
separation. - PSI 2004. Noticed a difference in thickness
(44mm-m 49mm-p) - Scanned area increases as one goes deeper in the
brick. - Found 1000 cosmics identified 100 low E
particles cm-2 m brick - Found 5000 cosmics identifies 300 low E
particles cm-2 p brick
