Handheld PDAs Software On The Move

• This presentation is designed to give you an
  overview of how a Palm Pilot/Pocket PC can
  provide your organisation with an intuitive, user
  friendly system for managing your business whilst
  on the move.
• Palm Pilots/Pocket PCs are small hand held
  devices, commonly referred to as PDAs, that can
  easily be stored in your pocket or brief case. By
  downloading selected information from your office
  network on to your Palm Pilot/Pocket PC, you can
  leave your cumbersome laptop where it is.

Benefits

• PDAs can easily be adapted for Palomas software
  so all your relevant day to day data can be
  downloaded and used on the move.
• PDAs reduce both the financial and personal
  risk, as you will only carry data necessary for
  your selected period of time.
• A PDA is easier to carry and cheaper to replace
  than a laptop/notebook.
• Your data is completely secure as no one other
  than Paloma will be able to remove the data.
• Notes and appointments are only entered once as
  your PDA will be synchronised with your office
  system upon your return to the office.

As well as storing information from your
in-office program, both Palm Pilots and Pocket
PCs are able to store your diary and task data
from Outlook. Dependent on the model of PDA you
can also send and receive emails. Notes can be
made and updated whilst on the move and
synchronised on your return with your office
network or PC. For the purposes of this
demonstration please note that the details used
in this example are based on our recruitment
program - Fortuna 2000.

Palm Pilot
The Palm Pilot is the original handheld remote
device. Intended as an out of office
administrative aid this nifty tool can be used
for updating the data you have selected to
download. Information that can be stored and
recorded includes meetings and interviews, tasks
for a given period and emails that have been sent
and received. There are a wide variety of Palm
Pilots on the market so take a good look around
before you buy

Pocket PC
What programs you have available on your Pocket
PC depends on the make and model that you
choose. The significant difference between the
Palm Pilot and the Pocket PC is that the latter
has Word and Excel on it as standard. Therefore
you can update and work on important files when
you are out of the office. There are also a wide
variety of Pocket PCs on the market so take a
good look around before you buy Remember we

information they store can be downloaded quickly
and simply onto your Palm Pilot or Pocket PC.

Diary
With a Palm Pilot you can download the diary
entries that you require from your system and
take them out with you to keep you up to date
with your clients and your workload.

Contacts
Details of your contacts can also be stored for
your convenience when you are out of the office.
From the contact screen you can update your notes
with regards to your meetings, which can then be
synchronised with your office system.

Pocket PC PDA

Using the Microsoft Windows CE system a Pocket PC
will support all your in-house office functionalit
y while you are out on the road. As well as Word
and Excel you can take all data regarding your
contacts and workload as you require.

A Pocket PC allows you access to all your
in-house office programs. Thus you can check
your emails and surf the Internet while also
managing your tasks and calendar

Contacts
By selecting Contacts from the main Fortuna 2000
screen you can select your required contact. All
contact information such as telephone number and
email will be available, by clicking to the
keyboard facility you are able to add additional
notes and change details as and when required

Candidates
Similar information regarding your Candidates
can also be accessed and updated in this way.

Prices start from 100.00. There are a number of
different models that range in capability and
speed but you would require at least 16 megabytes
of memory to be able to use Palomas PDA
