Blogs
  • A blog is a website where entries are made in jour
nal style and displayed in a reverse chronological
order. Blogs often provide commentary or news on
a particular subject, such as food, politics, or l
ocal news some function as more personal online d
iaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and
links to other blogs, web pages, and other media r
elated to its topic. Most blogs are primarily text
ual although some focus on photographs (photoblog)
, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are pa
rt of a wider network of social media.
  • Good blog sites are places like myspace.com or
    facebook.com.
  • I think bolgs are annoying because I dont care
what other people have to say.

Wikki
  • A wiki (IPA 'w?.ki? ltWICK-eegt or 'wi?.ki?
ltWEE-keegt1) is a type of website that allows
the visitors themselves to easily add, remove and
otherwise edit and change some available content,
sometimes without the need for registration. The
term wiki can also refer to the collaborative
software itself (wiki engine) that facilitates
the operation of such a website, or to certain
specific wiki sites, including the computer
science site (an original wiki), WikiWikiWeb, and
    online encyclopedias such as Wikipedia.
  • A good wiki site is wikipedia.com
  • A wikki site is good because it allows you to
change some of the content of the page

Podcast
  • A podcast is a multimedia file distributed over
the Internet using syndication feeds, for
playback on mobile devices and personal
computers. The term, as originally coined by Ben
Hammersley in an article in the Guardian February
    12, 2004 1, was meant as a portmanteau of
"broadcasting" and "iPod".2 Like 'radio', it
can mean both the content and the method of
delivery the latter may also be termed
podcasting. The host or author of a podcast is
    often called a podcaster.
  • A good site to look at podcasts is apple.com
  • I feel podcasts are good because they are a good
way to get information to the masses

5
RSS
  • RSS is a family of web feed formats. The
initialism "RSS" is variously used to refer to
    the following standardsReally Simple Syndication
(RSS 2.0) Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0)
RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0) RSS formats
are specified in XML (a generic specification for
data formats). RSS delivers its information as an
XML file called an "RSS feed", "webfeed", "RSS
    stream", or "RSS channel".
  • A good site for RSS is the Bostonglobe.com
  • RSS are good because they can keep being reused.
