3Why a Strategic Plan?
- Data indicates that participation in School of
Education (SOE) outreach activities is declining - Feedback from our educational community partners
suggest improvement is needed - The spirit and intent of the Wisconsin Idea is
missing from many SOE outreach activities - Outreach activities should be profitable to the
SOE, not a financial drain
4Design Team
- A design team was created to develop a strategic
plan for the Office of Education Outreach (OEO).
The team was comprised of - 3 SOE Associate Deans
- Interim Assistant Dean for Partnerships and
Outreach Services - 3 OEO staff
- CESA 2 Administrator
5Process
- Design Team met October December 2008
- Utilized a strategic planning model
- Considered input from a variety of sources
including previous OEO studies/reports - Design Team goal to have a plan prepared for
the Dean of SOE by January, 2009
