What is this anyway?

• Blackboards Early Warning system can help the
  teacher notify students who are doing poorly in
  class.
• You can set the criteria by individual
  assignments or due dates.
• Students (and parents, administrators, PACE
  teachers) are sent an email from you notifying
  them of the situation.

Why should I use this?

• This has streamlined the notification process for
  me. When I assign something on Blackboard and I
  know the student didnt turn it in on paper, I
  can use this to notify all of the students in
  that same situation.
• It is easier for me to notify everyone at once,
  and have the Notification Log that keeps track of
  all of the notifications. I dont have to create
  something and then keep up with it manually.

Decide what type of rule to use. For me, I have
only used the Grade Rule so far.

• I am sure there are other ways to implement this
  but I havent messed with those yet.
• To me, it is helpful to have this to communicate
  with parents or PACE teachers. Maybe this could
  help with SIPs and the SAS process.
• For me, knowing that I have documentation that
  students arent turning in their work and that is
  why their grades may not be as pretty as they
  would like.
