8NANOWorld Organization And Funding
- NANOWorld is being organized with the most
efficient and cost effective means possible. - The majority of the work is being done by a
dedicated group of volunteers and the L.A.
Council - NANOWorld is being held at Loyola Marymount U.,
rather than a larger, commercial venue,
essentially for free. - Advertising and promotional resources are limited
so we are relying heavily on section and L.A.
Council participation for attendance and
sponsorship - NANOWord will be profitable if attendance and
sponsorship goals are met.
9NANOWorld Attendance
- LAC and section representatives agreed to the
attendance goals in the last meeting - This was a pledge of support for attendance at
the conference.
10LA Council/Section Help Needed !
1. The Section will Purchase 3 Student Seats for
each University/College in the Section 2. Goal
to have Additional Seats registered based on the
number of IEEE members in the Section (roughly

11NANOWorld Attendance
- Sections should coordinate with the student
branches to organize student attendance. - More than one student can use a seat but only one
student can use a seat at any time. - No student seat will go unused students will be
found who can attend. - Students attending from long distances will have
free accommodations to spend the night. - We request (encourage, beg, entreat) the sections
to make every possible effort to reach their
attendance goals
12Attendance Activities
- Initial email to Section Chairs contained
- conference dates and fees
- the sections attendance goals
- where to send the checks, etc.
