14Top Five Registration Blunders Their Fixes
- Trying to DROP a mandatory course (e.g. Expos)
when you simply want to change the section - Add first, the old section will drop
automatically - Trying to DROP a course, but it will bring you
below 12 credits - You cannot drop below twelve credits. Add
another course or come to an Advising Center for
help. - Trying to ADD a course that you dont have the
prerequisite for - Save yourself frustration and pay attention to
the Prereq column - Trying to ADD a course that you DO have the
prereq for, but that prereq isnt on your
official transcript - Bring an unofficial grade report or transcript to
an Advising Center. - Sitting alone and frustrated in your residence
hall, occasionally posting angry messages to
Facebook - VISIT AN ADVISING CENTER! WE ARE HERE TO HELP!

15Important Reminders about add/drop
- You must carry at least 12 credits (including
E-credits). - Must resolve needs placement code by the end of
add/drop. - Do NOT build your schedule around one class
and/or one class section - Have multiple class selections for each goal
(furthering your major, exploring a minor,
satisfying requirements) - Consider time desirability
- The rules and psychology of add/drop apply if a
class is closed when you logoff at 2am, do NOT
wake up at 630 to check the status no one has
had a chance to drop it. Youll work more
efficiently with a few more hours of sleep!
