• For in it the righteousness of God is revealed
  (NKJV)
• We see that those people did not enter the place
  of rest because they did not have faith.For we
  have heard the Good News, just as they did. They
  heard the message, but it did them no good,
  because when they heard it, they did not accept
  it with faith. (Hebrews 319, 42 GN)
• The LORD said to Moses, How much longer will
  these people reject me? How much longer will they
  refuse to trust in me, even though I have
  performed so many miracles among them? (Numbers
  1411)

• Gods anger is revealed from heaven against all
  the sin and evil of the people whose evil ways
  prevent the truth from being known. God punishes
  them, because what can be known about God is
  plain to them, for God himself made it plain
  (Romans 118,19 GN).
• They say they are wise, but they are
  fools instead of worshiping the immortal God,
  they worship images made to look like mortals or
  birds or animals or reptiles. And so God has
  given those people over to do the filthy things
  their hearts desire, and they do shameful things
  with each other. They exchange the truth about
  God for a lie they worship and serve what God
  has created instead of the Creator himself, who
  is to be praised forever! Amen. Because they do
  this, God has given them over to shameful
  passions.Because those people refuse to keep in
  mind the true knowledge about God, he has given
  them over to corrupted minds, so that they do the
  things that they should not do (Romans
  122-26,28 GN).

• the real Jew is the person who is a Jew on the
  inside, that is, whose heart has been
  circumcised. (Romans 229 GN)
• God puts people right through their faith in

• We were God's enemies, but he made us his
  friends through the death of his Son.we rejoice
  because of what God has done through our Lord
  Jesus Christ, who has now made us God's friends.

• In face of all this, what is there left to say?
  If God is for us, who can be against us? He that
  did not hesitate to spare his own Son but gave
  him up for us all - can we not trust such a God
  to give us, with him, everything else that we can
  need? Who would dare to accuse us, whom God has
  chosen? The judge himself has declared us free
  from sin. Who is in a position to condemn? Only
  Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for
  us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays
  for us! Can anything separate us from the love of
  Christ? Can trouble, pain or persecution? Can
  lack of clothes and food, danger to life and
  limb, the threat of force of arms?...No, in all
  these things we win an overwhelming victory
  through him who has proved his love for us. I
  have become absolutely convinced that neither
  death nor life, neither messenger of Heaven nor
  monarch of earth, neither what happens today nor
  what may happen tomorrow, neither a power from on
  high nor a power from below, nor anything else in
  Gods whole world has any power to separate us
  from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord!

• I am speaking the truth I belong to Christ and
  I do not lie. My conscience, ruled by the Holy
  Spirit, also assures me that I am not lying when
  I say how great is my sorrow, how endless the
  pain in my heart for my people, my own flesh and
  blood! For their sake I could wish that I myself
  were under God's curse and separated from Christ.
  They are God's people he made them his children
  and revealed his glory to them he made his
  covenants with them and gave them the Law they
  have the true worship they have received God's
  promises they are descended from the famous
  Hebrew ancestors and Christ, as a human being,
  belongs to their race. May God, who rules over

• it is not by being children through physical
  descent that people become children of God it is
  the children of the promise that are counted as

• even before they were born or had done anything
  good or badit was said to her, The older will
  serve the younger, just as it is written Jacob
  I loved, but Esau I hated. What shall we say
  then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely
  not! For he says to Moses I will have mercy on
  whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on
  whom I have compassion. So then, it does not
  depend on human desire or exertion, but on God

• God has blinded their eyes and closed their
  minds, so that their eyes would not see, and
  their minds would not understand, and they would

  be proclaimed in all the earth. So then, God has
  mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he
  hardens whom he chooses to harden. You will say
  to me then, Why does he still find fault? For
  who has ever resisted his will? But who indeed
  are youa mere human beingto talk back to God?
  Does what is molded say to the molder, Why have
  you made me like this? Has the potter no right
  to make from the same lump of clay one vessel for
  special use and another for ordinary use?

• When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and
  thunder had stopped, he sinned again He and his
  officials hardened their hearts. So Pharaohs
  heart was hard and he would not let the
  Israelites go, just as the Lord had said through
  Moses. Then the Lord said to Moses, Go to
  Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the
  hearts of his officials so that I may perform
  these miraculous signs of mine among them.

• It is the one who sins who will die. A son is
  not to suffer because of his fathers sins, nor a
  father because of the sins of his son. Good
  people will be rewarded for doing good, and evil
  people will suffer for the evil they do. If
  someone evil stops sinning and keeps my laws, if
  he does what is right and good, he will not die
  he will certainly live. All his sins will be
  forgiven, and he will live, because he did what
  is right. Do you think I enjoy seeing evil people
  die? asks the Sovereign LORD. No, I would
  rather see them repent and live. But if a
  righteous person stops doing good and starts
  doing all the evil, disgusting things that evil
  people do, will he go on living? No! None of the
  good he did will be remembered. He will die
  because of his unfaithfulness and his sins.

• But you say, 'What the Lord does isn't right.'
  Listen to me, you Israelites. Do you think my way
  of doing things isn't right? It is your way that
  isn't right. When a righteous person stops doing
  good and starts doing evil and then dies, he dies
  because of the evil he has done. When someone
  evil stops sinning and does what is right and
  good, he saves his life. He realizes what he is
  doing and stops sinning, so he will certainly not
  die, but go on living. And you Israelites say,
  'What the Lord does isn't right.' You think my
  way isn't right, do you? It is your way that
  isn't right. Now I, the Sovereign LORD, am
  telling you Israelites that I will judge each of
  you by what you have done. Turn away from all the
  evil you are doing, and don't let your sin
  destroy you. Give up all the evil you have been
  doing, and get yourselves new minds and hearts.
  Why do you Israelites want to die? (Ezekiel

  The nation that I did not love I will call 'My
  Beloved.' And in the very place where they were
  told, 'You are not my people,' there they will be
  called the children of the living God." (Romans

• My friends, how I wish with all my heart that my
  own people might be saved! How I pray to God for
  them! I can assure you that they are deeply
  devoted to God but their devotion is not based
  on true knowledge. They have not known the way in
  which God puts people right with himself, and
  instead, they have tried to set up their own way
  and so they did not submit themselves to Gods
  way of putting people right. For Christ has
  brought the Law to an end, so that everyone who
  believes is put right with God. (Romans 101-4

• With eyes wide open to the mercies of God, I beg
  you, my brothers, as an act of intelligent
  worship, to give your bodies, as a living
  sacrifice, consecrated to him and acceptable by
  him. Dont let the world around you squeeze you
  into its own mould, but let God re-make you so
  that your whole attitude of mind is changed

• Let love be without any pretence. Avoid what is
  evil stick to what is good. In brotherly love
  let your feelings of deep affection for one
  another come to expression and regard others as
  more important than yourself. In the service of
  the Lord, work not halfheartedly but with
  conscientiousness and an eager spirit. Be joyful
  in hope, persevere in hardship keep praying
  regularly share with any of Gods holy people
  who are in need look for opportunities to be

• Ask God to bless those who persecute you---yes,
  ask him to bless, not to curse. Be happy with
  those who are happy, weep with those who weep.
  Have the same concern for everyone. Do not be
  proud, but accept humble duties. Do not think of
  yourselves as wise. If someone has done you
  wrong, do not repay him with a wrong. Try to do
  what everyone considers to be good. Do everything
  possible on your part to live in peace with
  everybody. (Romans 1214-18 GN)

• Dont take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let
  Gods anger take care of it. After all, Scripture
  says, I alone have the right to take revenge. I
  will pay back, says the Lord. But, If your enemy
  is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a
  drink. If you do this, you will make him feel
  guilty and ashamed. Dont let evil conquer you,
  but conquer evil with good. (Romans 1219-21

• My anger will flame up like fire and burn
  everything on earth. It will reach to the world
  below and consume the roots of the mountains. I
  will bring on them endless disasters and use all
  my arrows against them. (Deuteronomy 3222-23

• They fail to see why they were defeated they
  cannot understand what happened. Why were a
  thousand defeated by one, and ten thousand by

  Israel's powerful God, is saying I will take
  revenge on you, my enemies, and you will cause me
  no more trouble. I will take action against you.
  I will purify you the way metal is refined, and
  will remove all your impurity. (Isaiah 124-25

• Welcome those who are weak in faith, but do not
  argue with them about their personal opinions.
  Some people's faith allows them to eat anything,
  but the person who is weak in the faith eats only
  vegetables. The person who will eat anything is
  not to despise the one who doesn't while the one
  who eats only vegetables is not to pass judgment
  on the one who will eat anything for God has
  accepted that person. Who are you to judge the
  servants of someone else? It is their own Master
  who will decide whether they succeed or fail. And
  they will succeed, because the Lord is able to
  make them succeed. (Romans 141-4 GN)

• Some people think that a certain day is more
  important than other days, while others think
  that all days are the same. We each should firmly
  make up our own minds. Those who think highly of
  a certain day do so in honor of the Lord those
  who will eat anything do so in honor of the Lord,
  because they give thanks to God for the food.
  Those who refuse to eat certain things do so in
  honor of the Lord, and they give thanks to God.
