• Usually in the form of a straight line

• Actual Size The measured size of a part.
• Basic Size The size from which limits of size
  are derived.
• Limits of Size The maximum and minimum
  permissible variation of a size

• Tolerance The total permissible variation of a
  size.
• Fit The range of tightness between two mating
  parts.
• Clearance fit Provides clearance between
  mating parts
