• To improve the effectiveness of sustainable
  integrated urban development policies in Europe
  with a view to implementing the Lisbon-Gothenburg
  Strategy
• Exchange of experience and impact on urban
  development policies
• Dissemination of best practice and knowledge
  transfer
• Guidance for the creation and implementation of
  action plans on sustainable development
  (Structural Funds OPs)

• Main instrument for the exchange between cities

  710.000), established around the themes listed in
  the Operational Programme
• Two calls for proposals) 2007/8 and 2010
• 8 to 12 partners per network - Duration of 36
  months
• Importance of good geographical coverage
• Local Support Groups in all networks
• Thematic Experts (to guide and follow the
  process)
• Possible use of the fast track option
