We needed a seat that can fit 30 children in
the garden

First each group designed a clay Taniwha and we
took the best part of all the clay models made
a final choice so we could seat 30 people in a
semicicle shape.

AFTER TALKING WITH MR MARINO WE MADE THE SHAPE
USING THE PEOPLE FROM OUR CLASS.

WE DECIDED TO START WITH A SMALL THING BEFORE
MAKING OUR TANIWHA.THE WHALE IS OUR TEST TO SEE
IF ITS GOOD.

our design
First we put concrete bits on to the Taniwha
shape and covered them with mud that we pressed
down into the right shape. We had to take the
wheelbarrows to the pile of dirt every lunchtime.
It took a long time.

BUILDING
After the mud the polythene went on tightly then
the milk bottle spacers and wire mesh tied down
with wire.The TANIWHA also has wings made out of
plywood and steel pipe.
