Title: Conditional sentences
1Conditional sentences
2When do we use conditional sentences?
3In Book 2A we learnt how to use conditional
sentences to talk about facts. We can also use
conditional sentences to talk about what will
possibly happen now or in the future.
4In this type of conditional sentence, we use the
simple present in the if-clause and the simple
future in the main clause.
If you run, the dog will chase you. Bobby will
bark if I dont give him enough food.
Compare the order of the if-clause and the main
clause in these sentences. What is the difference?
In the first sentence, the if-clause is at the
beginning of the sentence In the second
sentence, the if-clause comes after the main
clause.
and is separated from the main clause by a comma.
