2Shoshoni Indians
-they lived mainly in western United States -they
lived one with the earth -searched for food all
the time couldnt stay in one spot -hunted with
bows and arrows and they hunted sheep, antelope,
and buffalo -they ate roots, seeds, berries, and
grasshoppers -they lived in tipis because they
were nomads -in the summer the men wore
loincloths and the women wore a kind of apron
winter they wore warm robes -believed in one
being called Duma Appah
3Choctaw
- -lived in Alabama and Mississippi
- -they lived in cabins made of poles, vines, cane,
and mud - -they used beds as tables and chairs
- -they farmed and raised corn, bean ,squash ,and
pumpkins - -they gathered fruits nuts and berries
- -they hunted birds and fish they never wasted
anything they shared food with near by neighbors - in the 1700 the Choctaws land was ruled by
French Governors then the British took over in
1763 - -they translated part of the bible to their
language
4Cheyenne
-lived in central and western United States later
they were pushed onto reservations -they built
earth lodges that are made of logs, dirt, and
grass -hunted fish and they also farmed main
crops such as corn, beans, and squash -in 1700
they stopped farming,abandoned villages to follow
buffalo herds across the Great Plains and began
to live in tipis -the main spirit the creator
Heammawihio the wise one above -religion was an
important part of their life -The Cheyenne feared
underwater spirits that they thought were like
huge lizards - main enemies were Kiowa, Crow
and Pawnee
5-they lived in Rhode Island -they
created a magazine called The Narragansett Dawn
-later on in their lives they were pushed to
reserves -they
made dugout canoes to travel in water -they wore
feather hats in ceremonies
-they had a winter house that was a longhouse
-they had a summer house that was a wigwam near
the shore

- they were warriors in their region and also
protected people around them too - -they wrote on faces of rocks to represent their
gods - -they farmed and hunted
