men, And when they die, long
obituaries tell of their many virtues

But we were just the ordinary people, and we did
it !

  • Traditionally, history is taught as the retelling
    of events
  • Instead, why not reverse the
  • usual process
  • rather than teaching students
  • to be consumers of stories...

  • Social Scientists
  • Involved in questioning
  • analyzing
  • imagining

  • Our classes, then, become a setting where
    students work as scientists of history,
    geography, government
  • conducting ongoing investigations about the
    past and present
