TH project (animal model)

• ZM to scout for excess/discarded mouse to
  practice inoculations into pancreas
• With PBS colored with a dye to evaluate any
  leakage from panc
• With PBS matrigel to see if this improves
  retention of the inoculation medium in the
  pancreas
• ZM to look for EGFR expression for all 5 cell
  lines we are currently growing in the lab
• AsPc1
• BxPC3
• Capan-1
• Capan-2
• Panc1
• We have settled on starting with the AsPc1 cell
  line (pending EGFR expression level) in SCID mice
• Protocol needs to be amended to reflect this
  change in animal strain

Ed project

• Show Ppix production is higher in tumor cells
  compared to normal squamous cells
• Possibly consider hexvex/metvex
• literature search
• Preliminary data with ALA derivatives
• Choose SCC cell lines and graft onto SCID mice
• How to use VDR KO mice (find appropriate
  application)
• Consider inflammatory markers to the marker
  screening candidates.
• Combine VD and MTX studies in one so that there
  is one control group.
• MTX results need to be confirmed in skin cells
  (current data is from LNCaP)

• Validate MRI/fluorescence optical tomographic
  imaging of BPD in mouse model (pancreas mouse
  model)
• Subsurface imaging simulations in smaller
  geometry
• Investigate Weissleders commercial fluorescence
  tomography system

• Current clinical study (Phase I light dose study
  for locally advanced PacCa) will form a nice
  preliminary results (BPD).
• Bill Brugges pig data on PDT of pancreas (BPD).
