c-store for a regular purchase visiting more
frequently than the English and Welsh. - English/Welsh c-shoppers visit more for distress
purchases (compared to the Scots). - Scottish shoppers buy more newspapers, cigarettes
and lottery than their English/Welsh
counterparts. - English/Welsh shoppers buy almost twice as much
BWS in c-stores than the Scottish! - A similar proportion of shoppers north and south
of the border buy something on promotion - But whilst the English Welsh buy more BWS on

be attributed to ranging nearly 1-in-5 failed
purchases were because the shop did not stock the
desired item. An additional 7 failed to buy
because the shop did not stock the brand they
wanted. - If they could not buy the item they were looking
for, the Scots are more likely to buy it
elsewhere. The English Welsh are more likely
than the Scots to wait until their next visit to
the store. - Convenience and speed are more important to the
English/Welsh when shopping in c-stores. Value
for money is more of a priority for the Scots.
