A noun is

• A people.
• A place..
• or
• A thing

Nouns- are found in sentences, they are people,
places, or things.

• For instance..
• The dog ate all of his food.
• What are the things in this sentence?

Every sentence has a noun in it!

• The girl was happy.
• I live in Grandview.
• The cat jumped up!

Lets look for the things in these sentences!!

• The lion was staring.
• The snake found an egg.
• The elephant was big.

People are nouns, find the people in these
sentences!

• The boy was playing outside.
• The mailman came to my house.
• The teacher helped me with my work.

Proper nouns!!

• Proper nouns are people and places that sometimes
  need to be capitalized!
• For instance
• You live in Missouri. Since it is the proper
  name of your state you capitalize the M in
  Missouri!

Proper names!

• If you see someones real name in a sentence, it
  has to be capitalized.
• For instance
• That is Amys jacket.
• Since that is her name you put a capital
• A.
