• First inflatable tire was invented in 1845 in
  Scotland
  
• First radial tire was invented in 1946 by
  Michelin but it was not popular in the US until
  1970s

• Treads starts out smooth before going through the
  curing process

• 1989-Only 10 of tires were recycled
• Now over 80 of tires are recycled
• -130 million for fuel
• -56 million recycled for civil engineering
  projects
