How Do State Dollars Reach the Classroom?
  • Washington State legislators pass legislation to
    authorize education programs.
  • Office of Financial Management appropriates state
    funds to the Office of Superintendent of Public
    Instruction.
  • School districts access iGrants to complete an
    annual application and propose a budget for
    program funds such Navigation 101.
  • OSPI program officials review and approve program
    applications and the proposed budget.
  • OSPI's apportionment system electronically
    distributes state program funds to school
    districts.
