Notice of Proposed Title III Interpretations
  • Released May 2 and discussed at June BCN meeting
  • CA had many concerns
  • ED is now planning to discuss final version at
    October 16 meeting
  • More information to come

Issues with Consortia-level Accountability
  • The CDE implemented accountability at the
consortia level in 2006-07 and 2007-08 due to
    federal requirement.
  • The CDE would like to go back to holding
consortia members accountable as LEAs if allowed
when the Proposed Interpretations are final.
  • This change would not affect the requirement to
form consortium if an LEA is not eligible for a
    grant of 10,000 or more.
