Session Objectives

• Actually run OpCon, and put it through its paces
• Practice adding, modifying, and deleting
  organizations
• Practice adding, modifying, and deleting users
• Practice adding, modifying, and deleting
  subscriptions
• Practice adding, modifying, and deleting
  subscription registrations
• Ask questions of the instructor

Exercise 1Basic OpCon Operations

• Start OpCon
• Open the Organization Manager, User Manager, and
  Subscription Manager windows via the
  speed-buttons and via the menu bar
• Re-sort the Organization Manager and User Manager
  windows
• Re-order the columns in any of the Managers
• Display the About OpCon dialog box and more box
• Switch between managers from within a manager
  (menu or speed-buttons)
• Exit OpCon, and re-start (illustrate manager
  window position and size memory feature)

Exercise 2Organization Manager Operations

• Open the Organization Manager
• Add an organization
• Add a city to the City Quick List
• Make some organization modifications
• Count the number of organizations
• Delete the organization just added

Exercise 3User Manager Operations

• Open the User Manager
• Add a user with a sub account and a certain
  user type
• Add another user with no sub account and a
  different user type
• Observe the Windows NT server accounts created by
  the operation
• Delete the sub account for the user with one,
  and add a sub account to the user without one
• Re-examine the NT accounts
• Print the properties of a user
• View, then print, then clear the list of users
  added during this session
• Make some user modifications, including the
  password
• Count the number of users
• Delete the two users just added

• Add a carrier snapshot subscription
• Add a vehicle snapshot subscription

• Count the number of subscriptions

• Open the Subscription Registrations window
• Illustrate the dynamic update of the
  registrations window when the subscription
  selected in the Subscription Manager window is
  changed
