The mission of Morgan County Elementary School is
to maximize learning experiences for all children.

How did we get to where we are?

• Academic achievement goals were set.

• Process goals were determined to meet
• achievement goals.

Academic Achievement Goals

• Teachers analyzed test data to get a picture of
  the students who met, exceeded, and did not meet
  standards.
• Teachers completed a Domain Analysis by class and
  by grade level.
• Grade levels wrote action plans to target weak
  domains.
• Academic achievement goals were set using this
  data.

Process Goals

• Correlated the system strategic plan, the Georgia
  school standards, the Charter goals, and data
  from 2006 GAPSS review.
• Divided the faculty and staff into teams which
  represented each of the eight GSS strands.
• Teams used correlations, GAPSS data, and the
  implementation guide to determine where we were
  in meeting standards.
• Committee reports were used to write the process
  goals for the school improvement plan.

The Focus Areas of the School Improvement Plan

• Revising and completing curriculum maps, units of
  instruction with assessments aligned to the
  standards, Keys to Understanding the standards
  for parents and evaluation rubrics to measure
  progress in meeting those standards, evaluation
  of student work and addition of acceleration and
  rigor.
• Providing collaborative planning time for
  teachers to plan for implementation of a
  standards based curriculum.

• Training the Leadership Team in the process for
  conducting awareness walks which focus on
  standards based teaching and learning and
  differentiation, to analyze data and to lead
  their team to make data-driven instructional
  decisions.
