2Towards Zero Waste Thailand
- Government should give motivation and incentives
to the private sector to mass produce and market
recycling technology to the general public at low
prices - Government can develop and promote appropriate
technology in the local community that is
low-cost and simple to run and maintain, while
providing simple management solutions - Each community must develop their own ways of
dealing with waste, but it is essential that
there are individuals within each community and
within each household that must assume the
change agent role. - Create forums and networking to support
individuals and groups to successfully adopt zero
waste solutions. - Support with information and training
3Towards Zero Waste Thailand
- Strengthen infrastructure to provide income as
well as build trust while helping organize and
motivate groups to work together. - Government should take responsibility to
strengthen network of innovation and provide
forum for cross exchange of info by groups and
communities - Government should promote recycle products and
invest to make the recycled product to be of high
quality i.e. motivate investors to invest in
this type of business and guarantee to business
who invest in this type of product - Partnership b/w government, private sector and
civil society is crucial for zero waste to work.
No sector alone can make it happen
4Think before Throwing! Use the 5Rs
3. Reuse materials over such as water bottles.
2. Reduce unnecessary consumption such as less
packages, use cloth bag, etc.
1. Reject hazardous products which can damage the
environment in both processing and disposal
process.
4. Repair broken things to reuse it again instead
of throwing away and buying new one.
5. Recycle by separating waste and giving to
second-hand dealer or recycle market.
