• Read through the introductory material in your
  laboratory notebook and pages 596-599 of your
  textbook regarding the origins of multicellular
  animals
• Begin your survey of the Kingdome Animalia by
  examining the representatives of nine major phyla

• Take careful notes while observing representative
  samples of each phylum

• Begin a detailed examination of mammalian
  morphology through the dissection of the white
  rat

• Be sure to wear aprons, goggles, and gloves
• Obtain a white rat and following the dissection
  identify external anatomical features and examine
  the rat skeleton
