- Nationally, 82 percent of high school seniors
have used alcohol, 50 have used marijuana, and 9
have used cocaine according to the National
Institute on Drug Abuse - Whats happening at Lakeridge? And Waluga?
Come and find out.
- Know whats changed since you were in school
- The THC (the psychoactive component of
marijuana) has increased by 1500 from 30 years
ago. Then marijuana contained 1 THC now it
contains 15 THC. - "Blunts are marijuana wrapped in cigar
packaging mixed with crack, heroin or PCP.
- Taking and combining prescription drugs kids
find in their parents or friends parents homes
- Binge drinking -- consuming five or more drinks
in a row. And on a birthday drinking as many
drinks as you are old.
- Prescription drugs and drugs like ecstasy being
slipped into drinks as a prank or to enable
someone to rape or harm both female or male
students. - Steal some of mom and dads stash of marijuana
and cocaine and sharing that with friends
- Young teens using inhalants even things as
seeming innocuous as whipped cream cans.
- Trying cough medicine to get high.
- Kids have a lot of discretionary cash do you
know what its being spent on? Is the 100 you
give them a month for lunch and incidentals being
spent on that or drugs? - Involved, informed parents the ultimate
