Canopic Jars

• Canopic jars were used to put mummies organs in.
• The lids of the Canopic jars were known as the
  four sons of Horus.
• Qebehsenuef protected the instines.
• Imesty protected the liver.
• Duamutef protected the stomach.
• Hapy protected the lungs.

Mummies!

• Now, lets talk about Egyptian Mummies
• The mummies were wrapped in linen (a special
  cloth for wrapping a dead body)
• Once the bodies were wrapped, they stuck
• a hooked stick up their nose, mushed up
• the brain and poured it out. YUCK!

Sarcophagus!

• Now about sarcophagus
• Sarcophagus were made out of solid gold!
• They were painted to look like the body.
• The Sarcophagus looked after the body while it
  was in the tomb.

How mummies were wrapped

• Mummies were wrapped in linen.
• Tombs were put underground of a pyramid.
• The mummies had lots of layers in each layer was
  a amulet.

After life

• The Egyptians thought the after life was like
  Egypt.
• The Egyptians thought when you died you went to a
  place where they weighed your heart.
