Bullard Hard Hat Decoration Program for Author
ized Bullard Distributors
2
Why Decorate a hard hat?
  • The hard hat is one of the most recognized pieces
of safety equipment on any work site. Take
    advantage of this to
  • Advertise company products or services
  • Build company brand name recognition
  • Improve worker visibility
  • Identify worker differentiation

3
What is Pad Printing?
Bullard uses a process called Pad Printing to
apply customer logos or artwork to our hard
hats. The simplified process... 1. Artwork is
provided and etched into a printing plate or
cliché 2. The etching is filled with ink by an
inking mechanism on the pad print machine
3. A smooth flexible rubber pad picks up ink
from the plate and transfers it to the hard hat
surface.
4
What is Pad Printing?
5
Pad Printed Logos vs. Decals or Stickers
Bullard has been pad printing logos on customer
hats and caps for over 15 years.
We use the latest technology available to print
clear, crisp logos in up to six different colors
as well as photographic images.
Pad printed logos are permanent and will not
peel, crack, or fade like a decal or sticker.
Pad printed logos are also non-conductive
- safe for the worker!
6

Camera-Ready Artwork
  • What is camera-ready artwork?
  • Digital art (emailed or on a disk) that is one
color, or if more than one color, is capable of
being divided into separate colors. These will
have .eps, .ai, or .fh file extensions.
  • Usually, any art file that has been used at a
print shop to produce letterhead or corporate
    stationary is considered camera ready.
  • Printed color separations, or anything that must
be scanned IS NOT considered camera ready.
  • E-mail digital files to bullardart_at_bullard.com
  • Allow 3 working days for proofs to be completed
    when camera-ready artwork is supplied.

9
Non Camera-Ready
  • What is NOT camera-ready artwork?
  • Letterhead, business cards, or anything that
    has to be scanned.
  • Digital files that are not line art (vector)
and that need to be resized, or need a color
    change.
  • Any file with jagged edges, whether printed or
    digital.
  • Logos with more than one color, touching or
    overlapping, that cannot be separated
    (tiffs, jpegs, bmps, etc.)
  • Allow approximately 5 - 7 working days for proofs
    to be completed if
  • non-camera ready artwork is supplied.

Logo Colors
The Pantone Color System Bullard uses the Pantone
Matching System and requires PMS colors for
every color in a logo. This ensures accurate
logo reproduction. Example Bullard Green PMS
3292C The Pantone Matching System is an internat
ional printing, publishing and packaging color
language providing an accurate method for the
selection and reproduction, matching and control
of color.
12
Ink colors may vary slightly when printed on d
ifferent hard hat colors. We do not recommend
printing light colors on dark color caps because
the cap color may show through the ink.
It is important to identify the color of cap on
your order form. Your cap color may be one of
the colors in your logo, thereby reducing the
number of colors charged in the logo price!

mixture of cap/hat colors to meet a larger logo
price break, providing that the logo and
configuration remain the same.
i.e. 50 pcs. 303 White - ABC logo

20 pcs. 303 Orange - ABC logo
This customer now qualifies for the 100 pc. logo
price if all three of these are purchased on the
same order. You cannot mix cap/hat models to rea
ch a larger logo price break.
