  • FDTL is one part of the subject strand of the
    Teaching Quality Enhancement Fund (TQEF)
  • Established in 1996 to encourage best practice
    linked to Subject Review
  • Phase 1 - 44 projectsPhase 2 - 19 projectsPhase
    3 - 33 projectsPhase 4 - 38 projects

Aims of FDTL
  • to stimulate developments in learning and
    teaching
  • to secure the widest possible involvement of
    institutions in the take-up and implementation of
    good practice
  • and incidentally
  • to foster collaboration between institutions to
    maximise development and dissemination

Funds available
  • Consortium projects funded up to 250K over three
    years
  • Single institutions - up to 150K
  • Smaller projects - up to 75K over two years

Consortia
  • Lead partner must have grade 4 in aspect of
    provision related to project
  • Only one lead bid per unit of assessment
  • Can be partner in more than one bid
  • Partners dont need 4s
  • Partners should bring strengths to the project or
    provide opportunity for dissemination
