• Mammals are warm-blooded. This means their
  bodies regulate their own temperature instead of
  depending upon the sun for warmth.

• Mammals give birth to live young, unlike most
  birds, amphibians, and reptiles which lay eggs.

• All mammals, whether they live on land, in the
  water, or both, have lungs to breathe oxygen from
  the air.

• Mammals bodies have varying amounts of hair or
  fur covering.
• Some mammals hair is not as visible as the hair
  of others.
