facilities by Baseball America, Historic Blair
Field will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in
2008. Home of the Armada baseball and more
since 2005, Blair Field is also home to the Long
Beach State 49er/Dirtbags and has been host to
NCAA regional's, five area high school teams,
Nike Area Code amateur tournaments, American
Legion and Connie Mack seasons, MTV Rock and Jock
softball games, and has been the filming location
for over 200 film, TV, and commercial productions
including Desperate Housewives, Spacejam, and Mr.
Baseball. More future major leaguers have
played games at Blair Field than any other field
in the country.
Over 2 million has been spent to renovate the
3,238 permanent-seat facility in the past 15
years. Over 50,000 fans come to see the Armada
and over 35,000 fans come to see Long Beach State
every season at Blair. In 1966, the Chicago
Cubs held spring training and played 8 games at
Blair . For 13 years, the Los Angeles Rams used
Blair as their practice site Blair Field is
named after the 1st sports editor for the Press
Telegram, Frank Blair. Major leaguers such as
Jackie Robinson, Joe Dimaggio, Bob Lemon, Satchel
Paige, Bob Feller, Tony Gwynn, Jason Giambi,
Bobby Grich, Chase Utley, Sean Burroughs, Milton
Bradley, Jared Weaver, and Troy Tulowitski. In
1961, the Dodgers would play a game before 6,250
fans.

- The Armada is Greater Long Beach's community team
- a community of over 500,000 residents making
Long Beach the 35th largest city in the United
States and 5th largest in California. Part of
the independent Golden Baseball League, with
teams in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and
Western Canada, the Armada is comprised of
former and prospective major league baseball
players and is managed by baseball great and
two-time All Star and World Series Champion,
Darrell Evans. Armada games are always filled
with fun and excitement for the whole family both
on and off the field. From players who give
their all on each and every play, to inflatable
bounce houses and games for the kids, to fun
promotions and great giveaways, to great food and
friendly customer service throughout the stadium,

publications. In 2008, the Armada plans to
expand to television and internet advertising and
programming as well. From half and full page ads
to flyer inserts to local cable shows and
advertising, the Armada provides their business
partners the opportunity to be seen by thousand
of media readers and viewers. Corporate
partners of the Armada can take advantage of
CO-OP advertising and have their logos and
information prominently displayed in Armada

In 2008, the Long Beach Armada Professional
Baseball Team is set to celebrate Blair Fields
50th anniversary. To help celebrate, The Armada
will be printing its own newspaper titled, The
Navigator. Stories and photos will cover the
Armada, The Long Beach State 49er/Dirtbags, the
Dodgers, the Angels, and other baseball
organizations in and around the Long Beach
area. Through a partnership with local
newspapers that cover a 7 mile radius of Blair
Field, copies of The Navigator will be
distributed to 100,000 homes and businesses in
and around Long Beach as well as 5,000 additional
copies to be sent via email to newsletter
subscriber The Armada will print 4-6 issues of
The Navigator beginning with the January 2008
issue and continuing through August
2008. Businesses can advertise their products
and/or services in The Navigator at a fraction of
customary media prices.
The Armada full-color fanzine and game program
will be available at businesses throughout Long
Beach and during every home game at Blair
Field. Play Ball features photos, stories, a
center-section scorecard, season schedule, games
and prizes, and a pictorial roster including
thumbnail bios of Armada players. Play Ball is
popular with Armada fans attending the games at
Blair Field and that means excellent frequency

A panel on the back of each Armada game ticket
is an excellent vehicle for coupons and tracking
the success of the promotion. The Armada expect
to sell at least 60,000 tickets in 2008, and with
three ticket back panels available, your business

Community and Promotional Events
P.A.R.K Program (Title Sponsor) The Armada
will be bringing back this popular philanthropic
program that allows local business to make a
difference in the lives of Long Beach youth.
P.A.R.K. stands for Partners of Armada
Recognizing Kids and rewards successful and
qualifying youth in local organizations such as
Boys and Girls Clubs of Long Beach, Department of
Parks, Recreation, and Marine's summer camp and
youth programs, YMCA, and Police Athletic League,
to name a few, with free tickets to an Armada
game. When a business purchases a sponsorship
and/or ticket plan of over 2,500, the Armada
will donate the 100 free ticket vouchers to a
youth organization in that business' name. The
contributing business partner will have their
name displayed on a Donor's Banner on the Blair
Field concourse all season long. Title sponsors
will be prominently displayed on top of the
banner. Hometown Legends and Heroes Baseball
Card Promotion (Title Sponsor) The Armada will
honor hometown heroes both on and off the field
with a series of collector baseball cards that
will include legendary baseball players that have
graced the diamond of Blair Field in the past 50
years. In addition, the Armada will make special
collector baseball cards of real local heroes
that will be nominated by the public and voted on
by a select committee. Local residents will be
able to receive ballots through advertisements in
the Armada's Navigator newspaper, Playball
program, local media, and online at
www.longbeacharmada.com. Awareness/Appreciation
Games (Title and Matching Sponsor) As with
previous seasons, the Armada plan to host several
games in honor and in recognition of important
causes that are close to home and close to the
heart. Portions of ticket sales, live auctions,
and other fundraising will be donated to specific
charities who assist in these causes. Strikeouts
for Troops Military Appreciation Day (Armada
donates money for every strikeout thrown in the
game to Military relief, Pink Diamond Breast
Cancer Awareness Day (proceeds donated to Breast
Cancer research), Bark In The Park Animal
Awareness Day (dogs allowed to come to watch the
game while donations are made to local animal
shelters), and a host of other events are
currently being planned for the 2008 season.
