Introduction
  • Choose a group of two or three!
  • You (the students ?) will take an in depth look a
    country from Southeast Asia and be ready to
    present the economic well fare of the country
    along with basic facts. Included in this.guess
    youll have to figure that one out on your own!
  • If your ready for this challenging role please
    continue.

  • Students will be expected to fill out all
    worksheets that are attached to the PowerPoint.
  • Keep all of these in a folder, if you desire to
    print them out.
  • Submit all worksheets at the end of the day,
    either by paper or email.
  • Keep all journaling in the same folder, frequent
    checks on your journaling to make sure youre
    keeping up with it! ?
  • All of the days are hyperlinked so you can easily
    access any day you wish! Go in order please!! ?

Day 1 Casting
  • Please choose a country and fill out the
    following basic information on link to the
    following sheet.
  • Each student must complete his/her own worksheet
    and the journaling. Time will be given at the end
    of each day to summarize and compare what each
    has brought to the group. You may work on this in
    your group, but have each person a copy.
  • Helpful hints
  • Try basic search engines to refine your search
  • Try to only use sites with edu, org, gov, ect.
  • Be open to new and interesting facts.
  • The World is a Large Place
  • Make sure to save all websites, journaling and
    writing assignments. You are responsible for
    these!

    knowledgeable about your country?

Day 2 Knowing the script
  • Now that you know the basics. Lets look deeper.
  • Using the internet look up the economy about your
    country.
  • Concentrating on the imports, exports and also
    how much the average person makes per year in
    your country.
  • Answer the questions on the following link.
  • Get to know your country

  • Find a map of your country.
  • Copy and paste it to the link attached.

  • How does the average income of your country
    compare to that of the average income of the
    United States?

Day 3
  • Technology a very important aspect in the United
    States how does it add up to your country.
  • Using the internet, look up the technology
    advances in your country.
  • Things to consider
  • Telephones
  • Internet
  • Radios, televisions
  • Hospitals
  • Using the form provided, write out your notes and
    thoughts about this issue.

  • How does technology affect your country? Are the
    technological advances up to par with the US?
  • How does technology affect your life?

Day 4 and 5 What are the characters like?
  • Looking at your country, what are the people
    like?
  • Look mostly at the food, housing and how the
    country relates to other countries.
  • Dissect the country, breaking down the religion,
    how does the religion effect the country.
  • What does the language say about the country?
  • Make sure you find a recipe for your final
    project, something that you can make. Preferably
    something not in the grocery store. Enlighten us!

  • What was the most surprising, interesting,
    heartbreaking, ect. Thing you learned about your
    country.

Day 6 and 7
  • Today you will concentrate on your Brochure for
    you country.
  • Your brochure needs
  • To be a piece of paper folded into thirds
  • Have four pictures, not including the flag
  • Have the flag, capital, population, ethnicities.
  • Places to visit, resorts, ect.
  • Things not to do drink the water, ect.
  • Main thing, be creative, have fun, draw!
  • Due by final project.

What to bring to class!!
  • Tomorrow you need to bring, crayons, markers,
    scissors, glue, paper, ect if you are doing a
    Poster.
  • If you are doing a PowerPoint, make sure you have
    all your information ready to go!
  • The rubric for your final is linked. Make sure
    you read it before hand! ?

    not? Least at least three examples.

Day 8 through 10
  • Putting it all together
  • Students will design a poster or a PowerPoint.
  • On the linked document you will find all that
    needs to be on your poster and power point.
  • Rubric for Presentation
  • Start thinking about your food you want to share!
  • Due at the final!
  • Rubric for poster or PowerPoint.
  • If you want to do something other than a poster
    or a PowerPoint, it must be approved first.
  • Extra points for the most creative!

  • By presentation time you will need to have
    printed out the following
  • A sheet to grade your peers on there
    presentations.
  • Youll need to print one page per group
  • A sheet to grade your group on the work each
    student put into the group. Be honest!
  • Youll need to print one page per person in the
    group, not including yourself.
  • The students who did not do the work should not
    get the same letter grade. ?

  • For the next two days you will be presenting your
    countries.
  • Presentations will go in alphabetical order with
    the countries names!
  • Good luck and have fun!

    disadvantages to living in your specific country.
  • Interact with your fellow classmateswhat country
    would you rather live in?
  • What was the most tasty food item brought?

  • Now that you are through with this project dont
    stop there! Dig deeper into the world of
    geographyFind out what country your family first
    came from! Look into how the United States
    interacts with other countries, are the ways we
    interact good or bad in your opinion?
  • Keep the LEARNING GOING ALL YEAR LONG!
