A Lasting Memory
Since it has been around for countless years it
has broken countless times and Ive learned to
fix it and that is why I became a Blacksmith.
My Grandpa made this Menorah 45 years ago for my
grandma on their anniversary
My Grandpa made this menorah because my
grandmas silver wedding ring was stolen and So
he made this menorah out of silver.
A funny memory is when I thought that it was my
birthday and I blew out the candles on the third
day.

Letter
November 23, 1942 Dear
Mother and Father, Im
sorry to say that the house burned down just last
night and the only thing I could salvage was
grandpas menorah. Anestel is in St. Petersburg
With Bruno and Franklin is in Egypt hunting down
ancient artifacts. As for me, Im in the
Netherlands trying to make my way to London. Ive
heard that some Nazi groups are making their way
in my direction, so I need to hurry up and get
the money to catch a ferry to London. November
27, 1942 Some nice people were able to give me
enough money to catch the ferry to London. I
should be arriving by dawn then once again Ill
be traveling. November 29,1942 With the extra
money I had left I paid a man thatll take me
anywhere in the United Kingdom so I should be
arriving in Manchester but Itll take a few days
to get there. December 2,1942 The car crashed in
the middle of the night so it took me a couple of
days to get here but I got to Manchester safely.
Now I must find a job that will pay about twelve
pounds (about 25). Ill be searching. December
4,1942 Yesterday I found a notice that said
Wanted Blacksmith. I should be starting
tomorrow. December 9,1942 This is horrible Mother
and Father, turns out that my employer is a
robber, so Ive been running. Although I have
seven I had to steal the other five. Im heading
for the port right now but itll take a few days
to get there. I wont be able to write to you on
the boat so I hope to see you soon. Your Loving
Son, Benz
