Other Projects Underway
Boston Maps Collections of 300 Boston area maps
and plans, focusing on the post World War II
redevelopment of the city. Maps will aid in
future study of urban change and planning.
Eliot Bible The first bible to be printed in the
western hemisphere, translated into Algonquian by
John Eliot and published in Cambridge, MA 120
years before the first complete English edition
was published in the US. 1200 pages.
Edgerton Notebooks The Harold Edgerton manuscript
collection consists of 37 notebooks (approx.
5,000 pages) original or microfilm. Part of the
Edgerton Foundations project to create an
accessible film and still image archive.
David Taylor Model Basin 1000 technical reports
produced from research at one of the worlds
largest ship model basins, a test facility for
the development of ship designs.
Maurice Smith Collection
MIT Research Publications
3500 images from Professor Smith's original
photography of his architectural work, plus plans
and drawings, other built works, landscape and
design photography and paintings and collages
used for teaching at MIT in the late 1950's-1996.
