Title: A tropical rainforest is one on the earths
1What is a Tropical Rainforest ?
A tropical rainforest is one on the earths most
spectacular natural wonders? Vegetation is
dense, tall, and very green. However, not all
tropical forests are rainforests.
Tropical rainforests lie in a green belt around
the Equator between the Tropic of Cancer and
the Tropic of Capricorn.
2Why Are They Called Rainforests?
Tropical rainforests receive rainfall
regularly throughout the year. The range is
between 80-400 inches a year. Tropical
rainforests remain warm and frost free all year
long. Mean temperatures are between 70-85
degrees.
3 Because the equator receives the direct rays of
the sun, rainforest days are divided
evenly between light and darkness (12 hours of
each). Our rainforests are disappearing at an
alarming rate. We are only beginning to find out
what great mysteries can be solved there!
