Introduction
  • They are 26 to 32 inches at shoulder and weigh 55
to 155 pounds. Females are a little smaller than
males. People think its a good idea to kill
wolves because they have been killing their
cattle and sheep. During the 1950s wolves were
the lowest in North America. That is why wolves
    should be safe.

3
Endangered Species
  • Wolves are listed in the endangered species list.
This means that this animal is endangered and may
become extinct. The only place that wolves are
hardly threaten is Alaska. Wolves live up to 8
years. If they are not in danger.

4
Expressions
  • Wolves show emotion or expressions when it lifts
its tail up. Wolves communicate with mimic art of
body language. These are some pictures of how
wolves express themselves with body language.

5
Threats
  • Wolves are in danger because of illegal hunting.
This threat has become some thing bad for their
survival. Another threat is when humans destroy
wolves' territory by building things on their
land. This leads to their death because they do
not find another place to live. This is why
    wolves are in danger.

6
Territory
  • Wolves live in groups or a pack. There are
usually 6 to 10 wolves in a pack. The wolves
pack territory may be up to 20-120 square miles.
Wolves need a lot of space for their survival. If
a pack goes to another packs territory, it is
    risking the packs life.

7
How Many Wolves Are There?
  • Right now there are about 2,500 wolves living
in the lower 48 states and about 10,000 wolves
living in Alaska. The gray wolf is listed in the
threatened species in Wisconsin but was removed
from the endangered species list in 2004 and was
    listed as protected wild animals.

8
  • The sound of a wolfs howl is becoming a more
common in Wisconsin. A gray wolfs howl can be
very disturbing in local areas. The difference
between the gray wolf and a coyote is the weight
    and the size.

9
Wolf diet
  • Wolves usual prey is meat. Wolves eat foods such
as elk, deer, moose, and deer, bison, fish and
caribou. They usually prey need about 3 to ten
pounds of meat every day. Wolves also eat grass
    for their digestive system.
