Objectives
  • KSL shall be an attractive arena that together
    with the local authorities
  • initiates innovative thinking and development
  • monitors and safeguards in relation to other
    players
  • creates co-operation
  • contributes regional knowledge and expertise
  • with the aim of creating a powerful and
    effectiveregion.

KSLs statutes stipulate that the Association
shall
  • support and develop local self-government and
    autonomy
  • promote and safeguard the interests of the local
    authorities
  • promote co-operation between the local
    authorities
  • assist the local authorities in their operations

This means that KSL shall
  • represent the local authorities in negotiations
    and discussions
  • represent the local authorities in certain
    regional bodies
  • create co-operation between the local authorities
    and act as a co-ordinator when the local
    authorities so desire

This means that KSL shall
  • monitor and gather intelligence on events in the
    outside world and, in the course of a dialogue
    with the local authorities in the county, agree
    on common conclusions
  • act as a caucus in relation to various regional
    bodies where there is local authority
    representation
