3AIM OF THE PROJECT
The main project objective is to promote change
in gender roles through sport and media using at
the same time specific educational tools and
methodology in overcoming gender stereotypes.
4PARTNERS
- For the first time in Bulgaria the project
Consortium brings together 3 Ministries, 3 NGO
s and 2 European partners. - The involved Ministries are
- Bulgarian Ministry of Youth and Sport-Promoter
- Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science
- Bulgarian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

6THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE METHODOLOGY
Through the popularity of national, international
and Opympic champions to spread the message of
gender equality and raise awareness about the
importance of gender values on the Society.

- NGOs workers in gender issues
- Media workers
- Secondary target groups
- Young people between 14 and 29 years, including
students - Persons, belonging to minorities
8INNOVATIVE METHODS ON REGIONAL LEVEL
- Public campaign European Weeks for Gender
Equality-Education through Sport - Series of 6 sport happenings on regional level in
Plovdiv, Russe, Varna, Burgas, Gabrovo and
Blagoevgrad - Participation of mixed child and teenage teams,
trained in gender equality - Sport games and competitions for the mixed teams
as a precondition for mutual understanding - Broadcasting of videos with messages by famous
athletes-men and women, in support of gender
equality - Involving local and regional media.

- National initiative Bulgarian Opympic Medallists
for Gender Equality - Campaign with final event international
conference in Sofia.
10EMPHASIS ON THE TRANSNATIONAL ELEMENTS
- Comparative analysis of gender stereotypes in the
partner countries-Bulgaria, Austria and Germany - Comparative analysis of the legislation and
identification of the common problems - Comparative analysis of approaches and attitudes
of the mass media towards gender issues - Comparative analysis of the attitutdes of the
primary target groups scientists/researchers,
lecturers and teachers towards gender issues.
11IMPLEMENTATION
- Training modules for lecturers, teachers and
mass-media - Creation of National Virtual Classroom on Gender
Issues and Gender Equality - Preparation and edition of 4 books in Bulgarian,
German and English languages - Round table with the Bulgarian Olympic medallists
for the initiative Olympic medallists for Gender
Equality - 2 international seminars
- Final European Conference in Sofia.

- Comparative study on the relevant gender
legislation in Bulgaria, Austria and Germany
aimed at transfer of good european practices - Methodological guide for training of young
people - Methodological guide for mass-media
- Methodological guide for local authorities.
13SOCIAL IMPACT
- For the first time Bulgaria and Romania are
invited for this call - For the first time Bulgaria submitted a proposal
and was selected for EU funding - For the first time a Bulgarian Ministry committed
its support for implementing EU gender policy.
