Title: Hearth to Hearth Ministries
1Hearth to Hearth Ministries
2Not far from the shores of Lake Victoria
3the calm surface of its water is belied by the
regions deadly scourge.
4Thousands are dying.
Due to the AIDS pandemic, graves like these
pepper the countryside.
5Churches are floundering.
6Pastors are overwhelmed
7Congregations are filled with orphans, many of
whom haveno one to care for them.
8Also, with widows caringfor their children or
grandchildren with no support.
9Typically, this 73-year-old widow is caring for
eight grandchildren.
10Our pastors cannot ignorethis serious situation.
11Since the Year 2001
- Hearth to Hearth Ministries has been working to
help as many orphans in East Africa as possible.
12WHO WE ARE
- We are a non-denominational group of Christians
working to honor God's directive to care for the
widows and orphans of the world. - The pastors who administer our projects are
historic Adventists.
13From a small beginning
14We now sponsor
- Three orphanages in Kenya
- Glory Childrens Center
- Hope For Children Center
- Good Samaritan Lwanda Childrens Home
- One orphanage in Uganda
- Bridge of Hope Center
- Several widows who are being helped to care for
orphans.
Over 400 orphans in total
15Homeless orphans from the streets and hovels,
with no caregivers
- (or perhaps one parent near death), are brought
to one of our three orphanages in Kenya as room
permits, on a case-by-case basis.

17Hope Center was built for 100,000
- Including Land
- Including a primary school
- This is possible because we build them to
African standards and work with locals - All the childrens needs are still met without
imposing our culture on them and requiring an
unnecessary outlay of means.

21MANY ARE WAITING
- Our waiting list currently contains the names of
over 3000 orphans.
22OUR PURPOSE
- We choose to help as many orphans as possible by
maintaining our facilities in a typical African
fashion and staffing them with local African
people, as opposed to expensive western
facilities and methods. - Our project is private, meaning it is not under
governmental control either in Africa or the
United States.
23ALL VOLUNTEERS!
- All involved, on both sides of the ocean, are
volunteers, with ALL monies contributed going
directly into the project. Only minimal amounts
of funds are used for promotional materials and
small stipends for African workers.
24- Once joining our "family," our children will
have a home from the day they arrive until they
graduate from High School.
25MEETING THEIR NEEDS
- Our children receive the emotional support they
need after having suffered the loss of one or
both parents, allowing them to grieve while being
given a chance to look with hope to the future. - Their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
health are the concern of loving parents and
other-orphaned siblings.
26HOW YOU CAN HELP
- You can help by making a donation towards the
current needs of one of our families or
orphanages.
27We give you the option
- Donations can be earmarked for a specific
purpose,for example - Educational
- Medical
- Clothing funds
- Building fund
- Or can simply be designated to be used "as
needed."
28SPONSORSHIP
- If you wish a sustained relationship with a
child, you can become a sponsor. - This requires a monthly donation of 30 to
cover the physical, educational and other
expenses for your child.
29We encourage you to bond with the child you
sponsor.
- You are encouraged to bond with your child by
writing, sending photos of his or her new family,
etc. - It is important to foster a sense of belonging
to these little beings who have lost so much.
30FAMILY SPONSORSHIPS
- For just 50 a month, you can sponsor a widows
family in Uganda. Your monthly sponsorship will
feed and clothe her and her children and provide
education through the primary grades.
31THE PERSONAL TOUCH
- The children and families write to their
sponsors on a regular basis, and we keep you
informed of all activities of interest through
our newsletter, Spotlight on Orphans. You will
also receive a photo and personal history of your
child or family.
