Title: THE DANGEROUS SEA
1THE DANGEROUS SEA
BY RUSSELL LAYFIELD ILLUSTRATED BY RICHARD
McGILLIVRAY
2One dark night a long time ago, A goat called
Garth and his friend Hippo,
3Went out in a boat and lost their way, Didnt
come back until the next day.
4The wind blew hard, The sea was rough, But they
both thought, They were safe enough.
5Although after a while, And far too quick, The
sailors two began to feel sick.
6The boat went up, and the boat went down, Garth
and Hippo thought they would drown
7Youre too fat! Youre too thin! Oh, lets
sit in the middle Before we fall in.
8Then all of a sudden there was a loud crack ! Now
there were two boats, a front and a back !
9Oh dear, oh dear, what shall we do? We went out
in one boat and now we have two.
10They swam and they paddled, They splashed and
they screamed, They had some luck more than they
dreamed.
11A passing ferry had seen the two, Sailed across
and made a rescue.
12Remember this story Next time you go for a
ride,Out to sea On the evening tide.
13The sea can be DANGEROUS, Take note of this
warning, And just like Garth and Hippo, Youll
come home safe in the morning.
