Title: Heroes of the East

1
Heroes of the East
2
Goal
  • You will produce a series of projects
demonstrating your understanding of the hero and
    culture you have been assigned.

3
Role
  • You and your group are archaeologists who have
found an ancient text about a particular hero.
Youve been contracted to analyze the text and
develop a project that explains the story and
    its values.

4
Audience
  • While you have been hired by a professional
organization, you are actually presenting to a
more general audience of people who are
unfamiliar with the texts and cultures you are
    studying.

5
Situation
  • Your goal is to develop a project that not only
interests your audience, but also makes them want
to learn more about the place and character you
    have studied.

6
Product
  • You will produce the following items
  • A monument to the hero. The object should be
    three dimensional and/or interactive, should
represent the themes of the work, and the
significance to humanity. Consider well known
examples like the Lincoln Memorial or the
Washington Monument. How do these go about
representing the character and values that make
    the subject heroic?

7
Product Continued
  • A comic strip that retells the story through the
heros journey. The strip should have at least
15 panels and faithfully retell the tale of the
hero. While focusing on the information outlined
on this website. It can be modernized regarding
language, but the setting, plotting and
characterization must be consistent with the
source material. Your comic must be displayed
with or as part of your monument.
