• Israel once was holy 21-3
• Had long left Gods ways 24-5
• Religious leaders no longer sought the Lord 28
• No wonder they lost the law in the Temple.
• Idolatry and homosexuality practiced in the
  temple of the Lord! 2 Kings 237
• Call to stand in the old paths rejected 616

• We are faced with a situation that echoes the
  days of Jeremiah
• Darkness seems to overwhelm the light of the
  world Matt. 513-16 Phil. 215-16
• Error seems to dominate the truth so that
  blindness prevails 1 Timothy 315
• Instead of purging out the leaven of sin, it is
  common to find professed believers welcoming it
  in 1 Corinthians 59-13

• Jeremiah found preaching Gods word to be
  difficult.
• His job was to shake things up, make a change
  19-10
• He was not allowed to back down. He could not let
  his personal fears show 117-19
• He could not compromise 1515-21
• He faced scheming enemies 1118-23

• Rulers sought to discredit him and told the
  people not to listen to him 1818 (With so
  many against him, then there must be something
  wrong with his teaching!)
• He was beaten and placed in stocks 1914-204
• In case you think that Jeremiah was tough
  207-10
• If it wasnt for God, Jeremiah might have failed
  2011-13
• Even so, Jeremiah felt the anguish of a sinful
  world 2014-18

• Jeremiah found preaching Gods word to be

• Put on trial, threatened with death 261-24
  (Notice that the prophet who fled lost protection
  from God)
• He was imprisoned in a deep pit 381-6
• Jeremiahs kind of preaching is needed at all
  times. His preaching exposed those who only
  wanted a convenient religion. He pulled down
  cherished, but false, traditions Galatians 110
• Too often, getting along becomes more important
  than truth. Luke 626 But woe to you when all
  men speak well of you, for so did their fathers
  to the false prophets

• Regularly Im seeing news articles that any
  contradictory preaching is being called hate
  speech
• We are so used to religious freedom, I wonder how
  we will handle a period of persecution.
• These times are bound to come Matt. 510-12
• Seeing what Jeremiah endured, we must resolve to
  give our all in speaking forth the word of the
  Lord.
