6News Item One Meanwhile, Russias joined
Germany, France and the United States in calling
for Iran to halt its nuclear program, after its
president said Tehran has successfully enriched
uranium for the first time. A supporter of Iran,
Russia has been seeking a diplomatic solution to
the nuclear standoff with Tehran. Bill Gasperiny
has this VOA report from Moscow. Russias
foreign ministry says Moscow considers Irans
latest step wrong, and runs counter to United
Nations resolutions on the issue. Ministry
spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said Russia was
concerned by Tuesdays speech by Irans president
that Tehran has successfully enriched uranium.
Officially, the enriched fuel is only meant to be
used in Irans nuclear energy program. But the
United States and Europe believe the ultimate aim
is to develop atomic weapons. Russia has long
tried to convince Iran to halt its attempts at
uranium enrichment, and has proposed that the
fuel it needs for nuclear reactors been enriched
in Russia instead. However, while agreeing to
discuss that idea, Iran has insisted it has the
right to enrich its own uranium. Russia is Irans
major supplier of nuclear power technology, but
its also added its voice to western nations that
have criticized Iran. However, the Kremlin is
firmly against any talk of possible military
action.

Before closing, the defense introduced a
statement to counter Moussaouis claim that he
and would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid were
supposed to take part in 9/11 attacks. The
government-approved statement says there is no
evidence on such a partnership.4. Its the

several times. The planet was blue and green.
They couldn't see the surface of the planet

landed in the middle of a green forest. The two
astronauts put on their space suits, opened the
door, climbed carefully down the ladder, and
stepped onto the planet. - The woman looked at a small control unit on
her arm. 'It's all right,' she said to the man.
'We can breathe the air ... it's a mixture of
oxygen and nitrogen.' Both of them took off their
helmets and breathed deeply. - They looked at everything carefully. All the
plants and animals looked new and strange. They
could not find any intelligent life. - After several hours, they returned to their
spaceship. Everything looked normal. The man
switched on the controls, but nothing happened.
'Something's wrong,' he said. 'I don't understand
... the engines aren't working.' He switched on
the computer, but that didn't work either. 'Eve,'
he said, 'we're stuck here ... we can't take
off!' - 'Don't worry, Adam,' she replied. 'They'll
rescue us soon.'
