2How about CREATIVITY?
3What is your definition?
- Write it as a metaphor.
- Example Creativity is like
- a breath of fresh air
- the sounds of a lock opening
- a series of green lights and a car with no
breaks - water flowing downhill
- Turn to your neighbor and share your metaphor.
4The Term Creativity
The root of the words create and creativity
comes from Latin creatus and creare, meaning to
make or produce, or literally, to grow. The
word also comes from the Old French base kerre,
and the Latin crescere and creber. The Roman
goddess of the earth, Ceres, is an example, as is
the Italian corn goddess, Cereris. Creativity as
a word has its roots in the earth. Other words
with these same roots are cereal, crescent,
creature, concrete, crescendo, decrease,
increase, and recruit. Creativity is a new word
that appears in the Oxford English Dictionary in
1971.
