See Me, Save Me
  • What got us here?
  • During the critical days of summer, off-base
motorcycle accidents have effected members of
Team Robins, resulting in loss of life and
    several serious injuries.
  • Based on national statistics, motorcycle
fatalities and serious injuries continue to rise.
  • In the majority of these accidents, a
nation-wide problem has been that automobile
drivers say that they did not see the
    motorcyclist.

See Me, Save Me
  • What got us here?
  • In Warner Robins, the number of motorcycle
accidents have climbed to a staggering 6
    accidents in 6 weeks.
  • In that time, there have been a fatality, three
    serious injuries resulting hospitalization and
    two other incidents.
  • These motorcycle accidents have occurred off the
installation, making this problem a public safety
issue and not just a Robins Air Force Base
    problem.

See Me, Save Me
  • A quick reminder from Safety
  • Wear protective clothing, such as Kevlar
    reinforced jeans
  • The palms of a bikers gloves should be
    reinforced with patches
  • Boots should be thick leather, with a sole that
can flex with the foot but resists crushing
    across the foot
  • Safety helmets that comply with Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218 save lives

See Me, Save Me
  • A quick reminder from Safety
  • Considering crash statistics and the increasing
number of motorcyclists, the key to a safer
traffic mix is learning to share the road.
  • Car drivers involved in collisions with
motorcycles often do not notice the motorcycle
    before the collision

See Me, Save Me
  • Where are we going
  • With the help of the Mission Support Group, the
Safety Office and the Public Affairs office, Team
Robins has created the See Me, Save Me campaign.
  • The Safety Office continues to promote training
    opportunities for motorcyclist.
  • By offering awareness briefings to our
community, the Public Affairs office wants to
create an understanding of what this safety
campaign means to members on Robins.

7
See Me, Save Me
  • Team Robins reminds its members to practice good
    drivers etiquette.
  • Share the Road
  • Remember to look Twice
  • And know that your car can kill
