  • Dry-skinned, usually scaly, cold-blooded
    vertebrates
  • Warm and temperate regions
  • Range in size from 2-in.-long (5-cm) lizards to
    30-ft-long (9-m) snakes.
  • Breath using lungs.
  • have thick, waterproof skins designed for
    retaining body moisture.
  • Include Turtles, Alligators, Crocodiles, Gavials,
    lizards, Snakes, and Tuatara.

Difference Between A Reptile and An Amphibian
  • Reptiles do not possess gills or breathe water
    at any stage of their development, and nearly all
    lay their eggs or bear their young on land.
  • Reptiles have dry scaly skin.
  • Reptiles have Scales.
  • Amphibians have gills to breathe
  • Amphibians have soft, moist skin, no scales.
