The Technical Coordinator (TC)

• Is a key part of the AgIT computer system
• Is able to perform computer tasks other users
  cant
• Software installation
• Unlock locked machines

Expectations

• Organize the physical aspects of new equipment
  setup.
• Provide the hands and eyes needed to setup
  equipment, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve
  problems.
• Help maintain the integrity and security of the
  computer system.
• Provide a direct link between your office and AgIT

Server Backup Basics

• The TC may not change the Backup tapes but it is
  important that they know good backups are
  occurring and tapes are being change.
• Backups run automatically each night
• Backup tape needs changed each week day
• The most recent backup tape should be stored
  off-site
• Each site should have 14 backup tapes available
• The tapes should be numbered 1-14 and used in
  rotation
• Cleaning tape needs ran if the triangular icon
  with an exclamation mark in the center is lit on
  the server or when requested by AgIT

Computer Security

• All users should have their own accounts
• Username and passwords
• Log out of or lock computer at end of day or when
  away from desk extended time
• Virus Scan
• Spyware/Adware
• Email attachments

Upcoming Server Change

• Current servers 4 years old
• Being replaced after State Fair
• Servers purchased by AgIT
• Require new Cleaning and Backup Tapes
• Require the assistance of TC
• Change process still being documented

Upcoming TC Training Sessions

• IP Video sessions held quarterly
• One hour session repeated four times
• Late August or early September
• Focus on New Server setup
