Pros / Cons of FP vs. DW
DW
  • Pros
  • CSS template-driven means changes in template
    changes on web pages sitewide.
  • Interfaces w/ all Adobe products (FW, Flash,
    Acrobat, PhotoShop)
  • Superior to FP as web editor
  • All bells whistles
  • Can clean up MS residue.
  • Can be used for both static dynamic website
    templates (.ASP, ColdFusion, .NET, SQL)
  • Cons
  • Slow learning curve
  • Not intuitive like FP
  • Preferential to write in code.
  • CSS template-driven restrictive on look and
    feel of web design

13
Pros / Cons of FP vs. DW
FP
  • Pros
  • Steep (fast) learning curve
  • Very intuitive great for newbies
  • Can write in code or design mode
  • NOT as CSS template-driven , thus, NOT as
restrictive as DW on look and feel of web design
  • Cons
  • Not being as CSS template-driven means changes on
web pages must be done individually (not
    sitewide).
  • Does not interface as well as DW does w/ other
    web-based apps.
  • Inferior to DW as web editor
  • Not as many bells whistles
  • Lots and lots of MS residue.
  • Used only for static website templates web
pages (primarily an HTML editor only)
