PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Cuyahoga County Comprehensive Partnership for
Tobacco Reduction (CCCPTR or The Partnership),
under the leadership of the Cuyahoga County Board
of Health (CCBH), has been diligently working to
reduce the burden of tobacco use in Cuyahoga
County since 2001. In order to provide a
comprehensive tobacco control program we have
applied a multiple-level strategy over the past
three years. The program activities have been
divided into three (3) levels
School programs Two evidence-based prevention
programs are offered Life Skills Training and
Word of Mouth. Neighborhood programs - This p
rogramming focuses on cessation, and utilizes an
existing community-based and worksite based
cessation program (Freedom from Smoking).
Community-wide programs This level of programm
ing includes surveillance, counter-marketing,
community awareness campaigns, and youth advocacy.

ADULT SURVEILLANCE Since
2001, 1200-1500 C.C. residents answer an annual
telephone survey conducted by ORC Macro. The
survey collects trend data on tobacco use, aware
ness, attitudes, and tobacco related health outc
omes. The data is also used to identify geograph
ic areas most in need of programming.
